The Skinny French Kitchen

Harry’s eagerly awaited second book marries together a love of classic French cookery with the desire to maintain her waistline. The Skinny French Kitchen details Harry’s return to Paris and her mission to convince the French that fat and flavour don’t always go hand in hand. From the author of word of mouth success Red Velvet and Chocolate Heartache comes a mouth-watering tale of how one chef lightens up favourite dishes from her French childhood without robbing them of their flavour. In The Skinny French Kitchen, Harry Eastwood presents her own unique take on delicious recipes from classics such as croque monsieur and gratin dauphinois to the light and delightful tarte aux pommes and mousse au chocolat.

Red Velvet & Chocolate Heartache

Red Velvet & Chocolate Heartache is Harry’s first solo writing project, in which she combines her talent for lightening up the calories of our favourite foods, with her devotion to cake. Indeed, she pioneers a new theory in which she replaces the butter from traditional sponge cake recipes with a mixture of grated vegetables, rice flour and ground almonds, reducing the fat and calorie content tremendously in the process. The genius behind Eastwood’s revolutionary new approach to cake making is that you simply can’t tell either that the cakes are lower in calories, or indeed what the vegetable ingredients inside the cakes are.

Red Velvet has sold over 20,000 copies in Britain since its publication in June of 2009.
